This is great news! My previous hang-ups on getting JRun and CFMX to work on FreeBSD were all related to not being able to connect them to a real webserver.

The source code is within the ColdFusion MX Updater 3, and more information about Updater 3 can be read here.

As soon as I have a network setup here at home, it will be time to cobble together some hardware for a new box for this site. In the process, I’m going to hopefully get CFMX up and running, and connected to Apache. We’ll see though. :)

I should be buying a Cisco 675 tomorrow from Ryan since I’ve managed to get rid of all 3 that I’ve owned in the past, which will mean I can finally setup a firewall with real port forwarding, a DMZ, etc. yay.

Anyhow, I hope I don’t have to make any source changes in the open source version of the Apache connector. If I can get it to work correctly, stay tuned for a resource site by myself (and whoever else would like to contribute content) for running CFMX on OSX and *BSD.

I just hope CFMX is stable enough on FreeBSD to not poop on itself when serving more than a few requests per minute. Although after researching FreeBSD 5.0, it seems like the way to go since it has threading more similar to Linux.
